Have you picked a date yet? Here's 5 steps to show you how-- or to wait

Have you picked a date yet? Here's 5 steps to show you how-- or to wait

Wether you just got engaged, are hopeful, or are still just
daydreaming its important to have an idea of what to say to everyone.
It seems to be one of the first questions they ask.

1) You do NOT have to have a date right away! The question will get
old by the time you finish your round of calls, texts, update your
status, or blog about it.

2) The most random day becomes a special day. Start a new tradition.
Choosing a date further away from holidays may reduce costs and
increase the availability of guests, specifically those who are from
out of town.

3) Couples are planning weddings further out these days. Planning 2
years out is okay! It allows you to be able to plan everything at a
comfortable pace. DIY-ers time is your best friend!

4) Discuss with your fiancé a date that you would both like. If you
want spring and he wants fall, try mid-late september! A marriage is
all about sharing, taking turns, and compromising. It's not ALL about
you anymore. (Though we like to think it is -- right ladies?)

5) Don't let others influence you. You will get married when the time
is right for you. Long engagements are right for any couple who wants
one, or doesn't want one, but chose to put some other things first. If
it's right for you, it's the right thing to do.

Key dates to avoid:
Valentines Day
St.Patricks Day
Easter
Mother's Day
Memorial Day
Father's Day
Fourth of July
Halloween
Christmas

Other days that may be affiliated with you or your fiancée and their
families religious beliefs.

Depending on your lifestyle, a holiday wedding may be the right thing
for you. Follow my blog for future holiday wedding ideas!

suggestions, but only you and your fiancé can make the final decision.

Happy planning!

The beginning...

Ten years ago I started day dreaming about the day that I would marry my best friend. Those years went by faster than I ever could have imagined. In that 10 years, I changed my mind quite a few times about style, colors, and venues. The time spent in the last few years has brought me into the blogging world. Countless hours on bridal websites, going to bridal shows, and the oh-so many marathons of Whose wedding is it anyway?, Four Weddings, Say yes to the Dress, and the newly acclaimed Say yes to the Dress: Atlanta. Though my brief experiences cannot yet qualify me as a true bridal consultant or expert, I know life will see me to that day!
